Reiher Moves On

Sophomore basketball player Danielle Reiher has signed a letter of intent to play for Head Coach Tim Kirby and Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas for the 2009-2010 season. The Lady Bison were 20-10 last season competing in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference.

Reiher played only one season at YC after transferring from fellow ACCAC school Mesa Community College. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 10.9 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game leading the Lady Riders to their 27t...

Reaves Named WBCA Honorable Mention All-American

Women’s basketball player B`Jonee Reaves was recognized as a State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team Honorable Mention Monday afternoon as voted on by members of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). In her freshman season, Reaves averaged 11.4 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game and 3.8 assists per game while leading the Lady Riders to their 27th consecutive NJCAA Region I play-offs. Additionally, Reaves was named 2nd Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team NJCAA All-Region I Division I....

Lady Rider Basketball Season Ends In Overtime

The Lady Rider basketball season came to a halt in Yuma Wednesday night with an 86-82 overtime loss to the Matadors from Arizona Western College. YC finishes the season at 17-14 overall and AWC advances to the NJCAA Region I championship game on Friday at #2 ranked Central Arizona College.

Yavapai was ice cold from the field in the first half shooting a lowly 27% from the field. As a result, AWC took a 36-26 lead into intermission. Yavapai came out of halftime with renewed energy ...
