Coakley Inks With St. Ambrose

Matt Coakley, 5’11 Guard from Scottsdale, AZ, has signed a Letter of Intent to play at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. St. Ambrose was 12-19 this past season and suffered a loss at William Penn in the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Tournament quarterfinal game to end their season. In his only season with the Roughriders, Coakley averaged 15 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists per game.

The Roughrider basketball team fell to Mesa Community College Tuesday evening in the Storm Center 74-49 to fall to 7-22 and 4-17 in conference action.

The lid was on the basket for YC as they shot a dismal 35% from the field and 16% from beyond the three-point line. Matt Coakley and Daniel Duran led the Roughriders in scoring with 10 points a piece. Coakley added five assists and two steals. Duran had three rebounds and three blocks.

Men's Basketball Wins OT Thriller

The Roughrider basketball team got some late game heroics from Andrew Fulbright Saturday afternoon in the Storm Center to pull out a 91-90 overtime thriller over Pima Community College. With 4.9 seconds remaining in the extra period, Fulbright hit a three-pointer to steal the victory. YC is now 7-21 overall and 4-16 in the ACCAC standings.

Matt Coakley was the high scorer for the Roughriders with 28 points. He also added eight assists and five rebounds. Fulbright scored 20 points ...
