Soccer Wins 200th At Ken Lindley

The Yavapai College soccer team won their conference, season and home opener Thursday evening at Ken Lindley Field against Paradise Valley Community College, 2-1. The victory is the 200th win overall for the storied program at Ken Lindley Field. Including the Amphitheater in Prescott Valley, YC is now 233-8-1 on their home pitch.

The Pumas started the scoring on the night as they found the back of the net in the 22nd minute of play. Yavapai got the equalizer shortly before halftime when Kyle Morris knocked it in on a pass from Stuart Bryant and then in the 70th minute, Julien Dragomir got the game winner on a rare assist from the goalkeeper, Daniel Sellitti.

YC continues conference play on Saturday, August 27th at Scottsdale Community College. The Artichokes lost in Yuma to Arizona Western College, 1-0 in double overtime Thursday night. Saturday’s match will begin at 12:30 PM where the temperature is forecasted at 111 degrees.
