Former Roughrider Inks Pro Contract

Former Roughrider basketball player, Larry Owens, has signed a 10-day NBA contract with the San Antonio Spurs. Owens was playing with the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League where he was averaging 12.7 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 3.2 assists per game.

The Mesa native played for Yavapai from 2001-2003. Following Yavapai, Owens played at Oral Roberts University where he averaged 10.9 points per game, 7.7 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game and was named All-MCC First Team and was the All-MCC Defensive Player of the Year his senior season.
