In the opener, the Rider offense managed only 4 hits on the game. YC threatened to score in the top of the 2nd inning. Darius Vines threw 5.2 innings surrendering 5 hits and 3 earned runs. The Roughrider defense committed 2 errors.

In the second game, YC took a lead into the 8th inning before relinquishing 3 runs to the Cougars in their half of the inning. Yavapai scored one run in the 9th to cut the lead in half but could not manage another run.

Gunner Bundrick, Alex Isola and Over Torres each had two hits. Bundrick hit his second home run of the year.

The Roughrider return to the friendly confines of Roughrider Park on Tuesday, April 17th to face the #2 team in the ACCAC, Central Arizona College. In February, YC dropped a doubleheader to the Vaqueros in Casa Grande, 4-2 and 13-8. Tuesday’s twinbill will start at 12:00 PM.
