Volleyball Survives a Bear Attack from Phoenix College

PHXOn sophomore night the Roughriders had all they could handle from the Phoenix College Bears. Yavapai won 3-1 by scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21.

The offense was set by both setters, Kaitlin Faber and Kayle Park with 33 combined assists. Oustide hitter Amanda Eno collected the most kills with 15 while hitting .191. Middle blocker Braxton Fenter led the team with a .667 hitting percentage gathering 11 kils on only 15 attempts (1 error).

Defensively 3 Roughriders earned double digit digs. Both Amanada Eno and Kayle Park had 15 while Ana Aguilar grabbed 10 more digs. Yavapai’s defense started with a strong well formed block which earned the team 19 total blocks. Braxton Fenter led the way with 6 block asists.

Yavapai is on the court again for another ACCAC DI match in Yuma, AZ on Friday at 7:00 pm. The Roughriders have dropped the previous 2 matches against the Matadors this season and are looking for a win that would help their playoff hopes.
