
YC Volleyball Winds '07 Season UpStrumer and Eiler receives conference and region honors The Lady Rider volleyball team concluded their season this past weekend with losses at Pima Community College and Glendale Community College. YC concludes the season 12-20 overall and 6-12 in conference action. On Friday in Tucson, the lady spikers continued their struggles on the road losing to Pima Community College in 4 games. Yavapai started the match slow losing the first game 18-30. The girls played better the next two games, losing the second 25-30 then winning the third 30-26. Yavapai put away a season record 22 kills in the third game led by Brittney Strumer with 5 kills. The fourth game the Roughriders fought early but Pima pulled away for a 30-21 victory. On the night, the Roughriders were led by Nichole Wanninger's 11 kills and 20 digs. Brittnee Eiler also recorded a double-double with 35 assists and 11 digs. Brittney Strumer was the only other player with double digit kills with 10. Ashlee Rowe put up 4 blocks during the match. No details were made available on Saturday's match other than YC ended the season with a loss to the Lady Gauchos in Glendale, 28-30, 17-30, 30-26, 12-30. All-ACCAC and NJCAA All-Region I honors were announced over the weekend and two Lady Riders made the teams. Sophomore Brittney Strumer earned first team All-Region I Division I and honorable mention All-ACCAC. Freshman Brittnee Eiler was also honored on the honorable mention All-ACCAC team.
