Anderson, Barnum Named All-ACCAC/Region

For her efforts this season, freshman Jordan Anderson was named 2nd Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team All-NJCAA Region I. Freshman Brittany Barnum was rewarded for her play this season by being named All-ACCAC Honorable Mention. Both players helped the Lady Riders to an 18-18 overall record and a 10-8 league mark.

Most conference victories since 1996

The Lady Rider volleyball team concluded the 2008 season with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-22) victory over Pima Community College Saturday night in Tucson. YC finishes the year with an overall record of 18-18 and 10-8 in the ACCAC. The Roughriders finished one game out of a play-off berth but finished the season as the hottest team in the conference winning four consecutive and eight out of their final ten matches.

Volleyball Wins But Out Of Play-offs

The Lady Rider volleyball team clung to the hope of a play-off berth with a four-game upset of #11 ranked Phoenix College in the Storm Center Friday night, however, Arizona Western College extinguished those aspirations with a 3-2 victory over Pima Community College in Tucson. As a result, AWC will play Eastern Arizona College in the NJCAA Region I Division I championship match and the the Lady Riders are left out of the post-season.
