This past week, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the NJCAA Division I All-American teams. Yavapai College placed five players on the squads. Kacie Smith and Caitlin Stangl garnered First Team honors while Jenna Rodriguez, Brittany Tucker and Shaunte Duarte were named to the Second Team. Five Lady Roughriders Honored

The accolades continue to roll in for the Yavapai College softball players. Jenna Rodriguez, Brittany Tucker, Kacie Smith, Shaunte Duarte and Caitlin Stangl were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) 1st Team All-Region this past week. Furthermore, Stangl and Tucker were named NJCAA Division I Second Team All-Americans. Earlier in the month, all five were awarded All-ACCAC honors.

Softball Ends Amazing Run

Finishes season 46-18

The Roughrider softball team dropped their initial game at the NJCAA Softball World Series, 10-7 at the hands of Iowa Western Community College and were eliminated by McLennan Community College, TX in an elimination game this afternoon, 3-2. In their first season after a 27-year hiatus, Yavapai concludes the season as the ACCAC Division I Champions and NJCAA Region I Division I Champions with an overall record of 46-18.
