Eric Fundalewicz – Interim Head Coach

Eric Fundalewicz takes over the helm of the Roughriders after serving as the assistant coach at Yavapai College for 3 years.
Prior to returning to Yavapai, Fundalewicz spent the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons at Saint Francis University (PA) as a women’s assistant coach and helping to lead the Red Flash to a birth in the Northeast Conference Tournament, one Conference Championship and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
While there, he was in charge of working with the Red Flash guards as well as recruiting Junior College players and high school players from the West Coast and in the Northeast.
In his efforts, he was responsible for recruiting two Kodak Junior College All-Americans.
Fundalewicz also coordinated the program’s charity and promotional activities. In his first season there, he helped guide the Red Flash to a 21-10 overall record and their 4th straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 9th in 10 years.
Fundalewicz served as an assistant women’s coach at Cal State-Northridge in 2003-04, helping the Matadors double their win total from the previous season and finishing one game from their first ever Big-West Conference Tournament.
He was in charge of working with the team’s forwards and guards as well as working with the team’s film exchange and travel.
Prior to his 3 year stint at the Division 1 level, Fundalewicz served as an assistant women’s coach at Yavapai College for three years from 2000-2003, helping lead the Roughriders to a 66-27 record and three consecutive tournament appearances.
In his first season with the Roughriders, he doubled as both a men’s and women’s basketball assistant.
He was responsible for recruiting ten all-conference performers to Yavapai and two Kodak Junior College All-Americans.
His other duties included being the team’s recruiting coordinator, working with the team’s post players, and purchasing.
A 1999 graduate of Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, Fundalewicz was a student-assistant with the women’s basketball program at NAU for four seasons. In his second season, the Lumberjacks claimed their first-ever Big Sky regular season title and posted the program’s first 20-win season.
Fundalewicz has worked at numerous camps, including the Duke Women’s Elite Position Camp, Arizona State Women’s Basketball Camp, the Wyoming Women’s Team Camp, and the Nike Jason Kidd/Bill Frieder Basketball Camp.
He and his wife, Raigan, have a 2 children, Kree and Coley, and reside in Prescott
Gabriel Van Guse – Assistant Coach
Gabriel Van Guse enters his 1st season as an assistant coach at Yavapai College.
Prior to joining the YC coaching staff, Van Guse spent the past two years as the head coach at Prescott High School. Prior to his head coaching stint at Prescott, he was the head coach at Joseph City High School where he helped turn the program around and lead them to the state tournament.
Van Guse will be working closely with Coach Fundalewicz in scouting and film duties as well as recruiting and will also be working to develop the wing players. Van Guse will also be teaming with Fundalewicz as head defensive coaches.
He attended Tacoma (WA) Community College and then went on to earn his B.A. degree in philosophy from the University of Washington.
Prior to becoming a high school head coach, Van Guse was an assistant coach at the high school level and has worked various camps, including Arizona State University, University of Washington, Rick Bolus-Blue Chips, and the Arizona Sports Camp.
Van Guse and his wife, Lara, have one child, Colton, and live in Prescott.
