Cohen Steps Down...

Roughrider volleyball coach Matt Cohen has tendered his resignation in order to accept the position of head volleyball coach at St. Johns River State College in Palatka, FL effective immediately.

34 Student-Athletes Named To AD Honor Roll...

A total of 34 Yavapai College student-athletes earned a grade point average of a 3.00 or higher for the 2012 fall semester. Those that earned a 3.00 or higher were named to the YC Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. Three of those 34 student-athletes finished the semester with a 4.0 GPA.

Former Yavapai College baseball great, Mario Delgado (1997-99), will be inducted into the Oklahoma City University Athletic Hall of Fame on January 19, 2013.

As a Roughrider, the pitcher/infielder made the All-ACCAC/Region I teams and in 1998, Delgado was the named the ACCAC Player of the Year

Former Roughrider volleyball player Haley Shackelford adds All-American to her list of awards for her efforts this past season at the University of West Florida. Sophomore Sam Cusack was named to the NJCAA Soccer All-America Team. The trustworthy defender anchored the Yavapai College defense the past two seasons playing in all 47 matches (40-4-3 overall record) with a plus/minus of +134. He becomes the 52nd soccer All-American from the Roughrider program.

AD Changes For YC...

Effective Saturday, December 1, Brad Clifford will assume the position of Director of Athletics. Clifford will be the 8th athletic director in Yavapai College history. Former Volleyball Spikers Honored...

Former Roughrider volleyball players, Haley Shackelford and Natasha Ray, were named to the the 1st Team All-Conference in their respective conferences.

Shackelford (2009-11) was voted to the All-Gulf South Conference First Team. The Colorado native was named to the second team last season.

Soccer ends season with 21-3-0 record...

The Roughrider soccer team fell short of their 20th NJCAA National Tournament appearance Friday afternoon losing to Northwest College, WY 4-2 in the NJCAA West District Playoffs. YC concludes the season with a 21-3-0 record (517-43-18 all-time). Northwest (16-6-0) advances to the NJCAA
