The Roughrider baseball team split a doubleheader with the Pumas from Paradise Valley Community College Tuesday afternoon in Phoenix, 2-1 and 3-4. Yavapai is now 26-14 on the year and hold a 17-7 ACCAC mark.
It took late game heroics in the first game for the Roughriders to put away the Pumas.
In the first game, Ryan Petersen pitched the complete game for his fifth victory of the year. He helped his cause going 1 for 3 from the plate with an RBI. Jordan Negrini and Krysthian Leal each had two hits and Matt Smith was 1 for 3 with two runs batted in.

The Roughrider baseball team split a conference doubleheader with Mesa Community College Saturday afternoon, 3-4 and 15-12. YC is now 21-11 overall and 13-4 in ACCAC action.
In the first game, Mesa took and early 2-0 lead after two innings and added one run in each of the successive innings.
