The season came to abrupt halt for the Roughrider baseball team Friday afternoon with a loss in the NJCAA Region I Division I Championship Series to Central Arizona College, 10-6. Former Roughrider pitcher Kenny Giles has signed a contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. Giles was a seventh-round draft pick by the Major League club this past June. For the Roughrider, the Albuquerque native was 1-1 with 2 saves. He recorded 67 strikeouts in 38 innings and a team low 1.18 ERA.
