The Roughrider baseball team dropped a conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Roughrider Park to the visiting Pumas from Paradise Valley Community College, 9-4 and 18-7. YC falls to 20-15 overall and 9-11 in conference action. Paradise Valley improves to 20-17 on the year and 7-13 in the league standings.

Yavapai could only manage 13 hits on the day as the offense sputtered in the final innings of both games after holding early leads. Brody Clifford was 4 for 7 on the day with 2 runs scored and 2 doubles. Luke Doyle was 3 for 7 with 3 runs scored, 2 runs batted in and a home run.

YC continues league play on Saturday, March 29th as they host Glendale Community College. The Roughriders beat the Gauchos in a non-conference game earlier in the season, 13-7. Saturday’s twinbill will start at 12:00 PM.
