As they have for what seems like the majority of the season, the #4 ranked Roughrider soccer team came from behind for a victory, 1-1 (YC 4-3 on PK’s) over Burlington County College, NJ on the first day of the 2014 NJCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament and is on top of Group D with 2 points. YC is now 18-2-5 on the season and Burlington falls to 15-2-3.

For the majority of the match, Yavapai played catch-up after Burlington County scored in the 23rd minute. YC threatened in the second half hitting the cross bar four times. It wasn’t until 1:14 was left on the clock before the Roughriders found the back of the net. Off a free kick, Milan Popovic went to the top shelf center off an assist by Kayd Marquez for the equalizer. In pool play in the national tournament, tie games go directly to penalty kicks to decide a winner. Again, YC came from behind in the penalty kicks to steal the win away from the Barons.
