YC Escapes Tucson With Victory

YC gets game winner with 1:40 remaining

The Roughrider soccer team defeated Pima Community College in a wild finish Wednesday night in Tucson by a score of 2-1. YC improves to 12-0-2 overall and 11-0-2 in conference play. Pima falls to 7-6-0 on the year. The victory marks the 54th win against the Aztecs, the most wins against any single team the Roughrider have played.

Roughrider goalkeeper Daniel Diaz played the full 90 minutes in goal recording 3 saves. Diaz had the key play of the game stopping a penalty kick with 9 minutes remaining in the game to keep the score tied at 1.

YC returns to the friendly confines of Ken Lindley Field hosting GateWay Community College on October 4th in a rare Friday night match. The match will begin at 6:00 PM.
