Records: Yavapai (16-2-3 overall) defeated South Mountain 6-1 on Saturday night; Pima CC (14-6-1) defeated Mesa 2-0 in the first round of the region playoff Monday night in Tucson.

All-Time: The Roughriders are 54-6-4 against the Aztecs scoring 189 goals with 58 against in 64 meetings.

Last Meeting: Yavapai 2 Pima 1 (Oct. 2 at Tucson).

1. Yavapai 2, Pima 1 (2002 Region Final): Erik Sterling’s free kick with only 10 minutes left forced an overtime with YC winning 4-3 in the first and only shootout ever at Ken Lindley Field.

2. Yavapai 2, Pima 1 (1998 Region Semifinal): Ty Hibbert scored with only 28 seconds remaining in regulation and tallied again in the second overtime.

3. Yavapai 2, Pima 1 (2001 Region Final): YC scored in the 83rd minute to tie the match and force a sudden death overtime which lasted only a minute on Alan Gordon’s game winning goal.

4. Yavapai 1, Pima 0 (2006 Region Final): Chris Johnson scored the winner off a corner kick late in the second half.

5. Yavapai 1, Pima 0 (2008 Region Final): Justin Meram scored a second half goal continuing the run to the school’s 7th national championship and a perfect season.

6. Yavapai 2 Pima 1 (2009 Region Semifinal): Yavapai scored off a corner kick with 42 seconds left in regulation to advance to their 20th consecutive region final.
