Walraven Gym was this site of another 5 set battle between the Roughriders and the Matadors on Friday night. Arizona Western came away with the victory beating Yavapai by scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-17, 17-25, 12-15. The win for the Matadors avenges the loss dealt to them when Yavapai visited Yuma, AZ and came away with a 5 set victory on September 11th.
In the two sets Yavapai won their average hitting percentage was .268 but in the three sets they lost it dropped drastically to an average of .024.
Jasmine Solley and Casey Johnson both collected 19 digs each to lead the Roughriders defensively. Offensively Marley Boase was the only Roughrider with double digit kills (13). Braxton Fenter gathered 9 kills while hitting .333.
The Roughriders will be back in action at Walraven gym for a home conference match on Wednesday October 2nd when Scottsdale CC comes to Prescott.
