Soccer Victorious In California

The Roughrider soccer team took a break from ACCAC action with a game against the College of the Desert Saturday afternoon in Palm Desert, California. YC battled 100 plus degree weather to come away with a 3-0 victory over the Roadrunners in the very first meeting between these two teams. YC is now 5-0-0 on the season and remain at 4-0-0 in ACCAC play. The College of the Desert falls to 2-2-0 on the year.

  • 44th minute – Josiah Pacheco, assisted by Lucas Lavanway
  • 65th minute – James Ampleford, assisted by Milan Popovic
  • 89th minute – Brian Montes, unassisted

It was a combined effort in goal for the shutout with Daniel Diaz playing 45 minutes, Bradley Trella, 24 minutes and McKay Owsley, 21 minutes. The win was the Roughriders 50th in temperatures at one hundred degrees or higher. Yavapai has won 522 all-time matches.

YC resumes conference play hosting ACCAC leader Phoenix College (5-0-0, 5-0-0) on Tuesday, September 10th at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley. The match will begin at 6:00 PM.
