Riders Shutout Gauchos

The Roughrider soccer team scored a solid road victory Saturday afternoon over Glendale Community College in Glendale by a score of 2-0. YC improves their season record to 11-0-2 and their ACCAC mark at 10-0-2. The Gauchos fall to 6-5-1 on the year.

Scoring Summary

  • 30th minute – Jake Winship assisted by Yabin Cruz
  • 43rd minute – Avery Hardie-Jordan assisted by Kayd Marquez

Bradley Trella played all 90 minutes in goal to get the shutout victory knocking away four opponent shots in the process.

The victory marks the 52nd all-time win, including post-season action, against Glendale, which is the 2nd, most victories against any particular school. Pima, the Roughriders next opponent, holds the top spot with 53 Roughrider victories.

YC travels to Tucson on Wednesday, October 2nd to square off with long-time nemesis Pima Community College. The match will be played at Kino Sports Complex with kick-off slated at 7:00 PM.

Yavapai will return to the home pitch on Friday, October 4th entertaining GateWay Community College. The match will be played at Ken Lindley Field in Prescott beginning at 6:00 PM.
