The Yavapai volleyball team returned to the friendly confines of Walraven Gym to take on the Cougars of South Mountain CC after spending the weekend competing in the NMMI Invitational in Roswell, NM. The home court advantage and enthusiastic crowd proved to be too much for the Cougars as Yavapai swept the match in three straight sets.
The Roughriders took control of the match early in set 1 behind excellent serving by Natalie Fahey. The offense was dispersed evenly to all hitters by setter Becca Long while libero Jasmine Solley started the offense with solid passing.
Next up for Yavapai volleyball is a trip to Southern California in which they will play 5 matches in 2 days. They will then return home to Prescott and take on Central Arizona College at 7:00 pm on Wednesday September 4th.
