Shaver To Head Volleyball Program

The Yavapai College athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Zachary Shaver to be the head volleyball coach.

Shaver has extensive collegiate coaching experience, his most recent job being the head volleyball coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an NCAA Division II institution. In addition, the California native was an assistant coach at Texas State University, an NCAA Division I institution and prior to that he also coached at Chico State University, NCAA Division II, in northern California.

While head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Shaver’s teams reached the NCAA Championship Tournament twice His team also achieved Academic excellence by earning the AVCA Team Academic Award 5 consecutive seasons. and five times his team’s achieved the AVCA Team Academic Award. As an assistant at Texas State, he helped guide the team to back-to-back NCAA National Tournament appearances.

“We had some really great candidates and are excited about what Zach will bring to our volleyball program, “ said Athletic Director Brad Clifford.

Shaver will begin his duties on April 1st.
