Ten Straight For Spikers

The #19 ranked Roughrider volleyball team won their tenth consecutive match Wednesday night over the Artichokes from Scottsdale Community College, 3-1 (25-19, 14-25, 26-24, 25-21). YC is now 26-5 overall and 8-4 in the ACCAC race. Scottsdale falls to 8-13 on the season and 5-9 in conference play. Head coach Matt Cohen commented, “Scottsdale is a good team and we took their best shot and found a way to win.”

Jen Sadler led the Riders with 18 kills. The reigning ACCAC and NJCAA Division I Player of week had a double/double with 15 kills and 15 digs. MacKenzie Hamilton added 13 kills. The playmaker, Libby Ary, added to her league leading assist total with 54 on the night. Ary also added 2 aces and 11 digs.

Yavapai continues the hunt for one of two playoff spots on Friday, October 19 at fellow conference opponent Eastern Arizona College. YC looks to avenge two earlier losses to the Gila Monsters. The match will begin at 7:00 PM.
