The #2 nationally ranked Roughrider soccer team captured their 23rd ACCAC crown since the program’s inception in 1989 with 2-1 double overtime victory over Pima Community College Saturday night in Prescott Valley. Yavapai is now 19-1-0 overall and 18-1-0 in league play. Pima falls to 11-5-2.

Pima took a 1-0 lead into halftime but in the 66th minute YC got the equalizer on a goal by Julien Dragomir (assisted Alex Harlley) and in the 108th, Dragomir got the game winner on an assist by Jonathan Grant. Danny Sellitti played all 108 minutes in goal giving up the lone Pima goal on a deflection and saving 7 shots on goal.

With the conference championship, YC earns a first round bye in the NJCAA Region I Play-offs. Yavapai will play host to the second round on Thursday, October 25th against an opponent yet to be determined. That match will be played at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley where the Roughriders are 45-0-0 all-time. However, prior to the playoffs, Yavapai will play the regular season finale at Arizona Western College on Thursday, October 18th. YC beat the Matadors earlier in the season, 4-1.
