Former Yavapai College softball player Brittany McCray has signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent to play for Division I affiliate Boise State University.

In her only season with the Roughriders, the catcher/infielder hit .406 with 8 home runs, 11 doubles, 3 triples and 35 runs batted in. McCray led the team in slugging percentage at .711. For her efforts, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association named the Salt Lake City native to the 2nd Team All-West Region.

Led by Head Coach Erin Thorpe, the Boise State finished the 2012 campaign with a 34-20 overall record and tied for second place in the Mountain West Conference with an 8-4 record. Thorpe is the only head coach in the history of Bronco softball. The program began in 2008. The Broncos have a 118-102 overall record in four seasons.
