Four Roughriders Receive NFCA Honor

For their efforts this past season, four Roughrider softball players have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-West Region Team. Freshman Brandi Heimburg and sophomore Estela Pinon were named to the first team and sophomores Ashleigh Seipel and Brittany McCray made the second team.

Heimburg hit .409 in her inaugural season leading the team in doubles and triples and swiped nine bases. Pinon, the reigning ACCAC Player of the Year, hit .364 with 9 home runs and led the team in runs batted in with 62. Seipel led the team in batting average (.420), hits (90), runs scored (68) and was a perfect 9 for 9 in stolen bases. McCray hit .406 and had a whopping .711 slugging percentage, which led the team, and tied for the team lead in triples (3).
