Former Spiker Garners Award

Former Yavapai College and current University of West Florida volleyball player, Haley Shackelford was named Gulf South Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts this past week. In addition, the Colorado native earned all-league honors being named to the 2nd Team All-GSC.

In wins over West Georgia and Valdosta State, the 6’0” outside hitter had 22 kills averaging 3.67 kills per set while committing only one error in 37 attempts. She also had six service aces in the two matches to improve here league leading total to 57.

Shackelford played for the Roughrider spikers from 2009-2011 when was named to the 1st Team All-ACCAC and 1st Team NJCAA All-Region I for both years and was named an NJCAA 2nd Team All-American after her sophomore season.

The Argos, Shackelford’s present team, is currently 24-8 overall and a perfect 14-0 in league action and ranked #4 in the NCAA South Regional rankings.
