The Roughrider volleyball team went winless on day two of the Air Force Prep Academy Invitational to fall to 11-12 on the season. Yavapai was 3-2 during the tournament. Both games were rematches of earlier contests between the teams.

In the first match, YC fell to Barton Community College, 3-0 (17-25, 17-25, 14-25). In the final game of the day the lady spikers fell to New Mexico Military Institute, 3-1 (19-25, 25-27, 25-21, 20-25). For that final game, YC was down to eight healthy players. “The reserves played out of their minds,” commented Head Coach Matt Cohen. “Very proud of them.”

Yavapai plays three crucial league matches this week as they try and position themselves for a playoff spot. Cohen stresses, “We head into the week one game behind Arizona Western and one game ahead of Central Arizona. This is a big week.”

On Wednesday, October 12th the squad will entertain DII #7Chandler-Gilbert Community College. 7:00 PM is the start time. Then YC will travel to Phoenix College on Friday and Arizona Western College on Saturday.
