Former Roughrider Scores Last Second MLS Goal...

Former Yavapai College Soccer Player Alan Gordon canceled out what would have been a match-winner from Juan Pablo Ángel as Toronto FC and the LA Galaxy tied 2-2 at The Home Depot Center on Saturday night.

Gordon, now a forward for Toronto, scored goals in the 68th minute as well as four minutes

Five Named All-Americans...

Five Roughrider softball players were named to the NFCA All-America Team Wednesday. YC placed three on the first-team and two on the second-team.

Sophomore-to-be Amelia Willadsen led the way for the national champions by going 34-1 on the year with a 0.98 ERA and 173 strikeouts.

Clark Named All-American...

On Wednesday, the NJCAA announced the 2011 Division I Baseball All-America Teams. From Yavapai, sophomore catcher Nolan Clark was named to the third team for his efforts this past season.

Roughriders In MLB Draft...

Kenny Giles was the 241st player selected and the first Roughrider chosen in the 2011 MLB Draft Tuesday by the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2011, Giles threw 38 innings for the Roughriders compiling a 1-1 overall record and recording 2 saves. The Albuquerque native was 5th in the NJCAA

The post-season awards keep rolling in for the National Champion Roughrider softball team with three players being named NJCAA All-Americans.
