The Roughrider basketball team had their playoff hopes dashed Friday night in the Storm Center as YC lost to Eastern Arizona College, 90-81. Yavapai concludes the season with an 11-19 overall record and an 8-14 conference mark.

Despite the loss, the Roughriders had one last hope for a playoff berth – a Mesa Community College loss. The stars did not align for Eric Fundalewicz’s group; Mesa beat South Mountain Community College, 82-57 to claim the final spot in the NJCAA Region I Division playoffs.

In his last game, Dionte Goodlett led the Roughriders with 16 points. Dominique Brooks added 14 points. JuWan Buchanan chipped in with 13 points.

The game was the final game for the Roughrider basketball program. Due to budget constraints both men’s and women’s basketball teams have been eliminated for the next season.
