Lady Riders Top The Timberwolves...

The Lady Rider basketball team shook off the snow to heat up the nets in Walraven Gym on Thursday afternoon with a 71-52 victory over the visiting Timberwolves from the University of Northern British Columbia. YC improves to 9-3 overall with a perfect 6-0 non-conference record.

The Lady Rider women’s basketball team bounced back from their Wednesday night home loss to beat Glendale Community College (4-4, 3-3) Saturday afternoon in Glendale, 71-53. Yavapai improves to 7-3 overall and evens their conference record at 3-3.

The Roughrider men’s basketball team dropped their third conference game Saturday afternoon to Glendale Community College, 94-90. YC falls to 5-6 overall and 3-3 in the ACCAC.

For her efforts this past week, freshman Antoinette Miller was named ACCAC Division I Player of the Week. In two wins, the Surprise native averaged 18 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game and 4 steals per game.

The Yavapai College women’s basketball team won their fifth consecutive contest Saturday afternoon in Phoenix over South Mountain Community College, 75-67. The lady hoopsters overcame a 4-point defecit at halftime to improve their overall record to 6-2 and even their league mark at 2-2.
