The number five ranked Roughrider soccer team began the 2010 campaign with a 3 – 1 victory over Paradise Valley Community College Friday night, in Prescott Valley. YC is now 21-1-0 all-time in home openers and 31-0-0 at the Amphitheater in Prescott Valley.

Hall of Famer Joins Baseball Staff...

Jerry Dawson joins the Yavapai baseball staff after serving as the head baseball coach at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona for the past 37 years. The USA Junior Softball Team went undefeated in the III Pan American Championships in Bogota, Columbia August 8-14 to qualify for the International Softball Federation (ISF) Junior Women’s World Championship to be held December 2011 in Cape Town, South Africa. The 2010 Roughrider volleyball team enters the new season with a #24 pre-season ranking. YC looks to capitalize on last season’s success in which the lady spikers finished the season as the NJCAA Division I Region I Runners-up. Fellow conference foe Eastern Arizona College checks in at #13.

The Roughrider baseball team has announced that Assistant Coach Brandon Bailey has accepted an assistant coaching position at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. The institution is a member of the Lone Star Conference an, NCAA Division II affiliate.
