Reaves Named All-ACCAC...

Freshman basketball player Bjonee` Reaves was named to the Second Team All-ACCAC and First Team NJCAA Region I Division I team Saturday morning as voted on by the conference coaches. Reaves was the team’s leading scorer and tops in assists, steals and three-point percentage. The California native

Baseball Sweeps The Apaches...

A doubleheader sweep made the long bus ride worth it for the Roughrider baseball team on Saturday. YC took two from the host team Cochise College, 5-1 and 6-0 to improve to 18-4 overall and 8-2 in ACCAC action.

Former Softball Player Honored...

Former Yavapai College and current University of New Mexico softball third baseman Shaunte Duarte was named Mountain West Conference Softball Player of the Week. Duarte played for the Roughriders last season before transferring to Albuquerque this season.

#2 Spanks The Lady Riders...

The Lady Rider basketball team fell hard Friday night to the #2 ranked Central Arizona College Vaqueras 116-64. YC concludes the regular season 17-13 and 13-9 in ACCAC play. Yavapai finishes the year in third place in the conference Division I race and will travel to Arizona Western College on Wednesday,

Softball Continues Rampage...

The Roughrider softball team swept a doubleheader from Glendale Community College Friday afternoon in Glendale, 6-0 and 6-4 in nine innings. YC is now 25-1 and remain at 10-0 in ACCAC play.

Softball Sweeps...

Yavapai softball swept a non-conference doubleheader from Mesa Community College Friday afternoon at Roughrider Park 11-3 and 9-1. YC improves their overall record to 23-1 and remain at 10-0 in ACCAC action.

Thunderbirds Beat Lady Hoopsters...

The Lady Rider basketball squad dropped their second consecutive game Tuesday night at the hands of the #5 ranked Mesa Community College Thunderbirds, 74-58. YC is now 17-12 overall and 13-8 in ACCAC action. Because of the loss, Yavapai will begin the playoffs next Wednesday evening at Arizona Western

Men’s Basketball Falls...

The Roughrider basketball team fell to Mesa Community College Tuesday evening in the Storm Center 74-49 to fall to 7-22 and 4-17 in conference action.

Softball Sweeps Again...

The #5 ranked Roughrider softball team swept a conference doubleheader this afternoon against South Mountain Community College, 8-0 and 10-0 to run their record to 21-1 and 10-0 in ACCAC play.

Baseball Beats The Monsters...

The Roughrider baseball team won the first game of a conference doubleheader in dramatic fashion and pitched a shutout in the second game to earn a sweep of Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher Tuesday afternoon, 6-5 and 5-0. Yavapai is now 16-4 and 6-2 in conference games.

Softball Pitches Two Shutouts...

The Roughrider softball team recorded their third consecutive shutout and ninth overall Saturday afternoon in Prescott with a twinbill killing of Glendale Community College, 6-0 and 7-0. Yavapai is now 17-1 overall.

The Roughrider baseball team got a doubleheader sweep today in Phoenix against Gateway Community College, 3-1 and 9-0. Yavapai improves to 14-4 overall and 4-2 in ACCAC action.

Men’s Basketball Wins OT Thriller...

The Roughrider basketball team got some late game heroics from Andrew Fulbright Saturday afternoon in the Storm Center to pull out a 91-90 overtime thriller over Pima Community College. With 4.9 seconds remaining in the extra period, Fulbright hit a three-pointer to steal the victory. YC is now 7-21

Softball Downs Dawson...

Hardine picks up both wins. In a non-conference doubleheader, Yavapai won two games over the visiting Dawson Community College, MT, 18-0 and 7-3. Yavapai is now 19-1 overall.

Fortè Named ACCAC POW...

The Lady Rider basketball team had their 7-game winning streak snapped this afternoon at the hands of #4 ranked Pima Community College, 72-64. The Aztecs sweep the two-game series for the season. Yavapai is now 17-11 overall and 13-7 in ACCAC play.

Softball Stays Hot...

The Lady Rider softball finally got a home game, meaning in Prescott. On Thursday, YC played at local softball field Heritage Park against Scottsdale Community College and came away with a twinbill sweep, 11-2 and 10-0. The lady diamondeers are now 15-1 overall.

YC Basketball Falls To Eastern...

The Roughrider men’s basketball team lost to Eastern Arizona College Wednesday night in the Storm Center, 99-76. Yavapai is now 6-21 overall and 3-16 in conference play. Eastern Arizona improves to 18-9 and 12-7.

Sophomore pitcher Rick Anton was named to the 2009 NJCAA Division I Pre-Season All-American team this past week. Reiher Named Player Of The Week...
