Lady Riders Beat PC

The Lady Riders basketball team bounced back after a disappointing loss on Wednesday night to beat Phoenix College this afternoon on the Bear campus 81-62. Yavapai improves their record to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Yavapai shot 51% from the field led by sophomore Sandy Cook with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Freshman Julianne Forte` added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Sophomore transfer Danielle Reiher added 11 points and a team high 9 rebounds. Freshmen Bjonee Reaves and Lerrin Cook each chipped in 10 points. Freshman Domonique Washington was the do-it-all player today with 7 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.

YC heads north to the Snow College Invitational on Friday, November 28th and Saturday, November 29th. On Friday afternoon, Yavapai locks horns with Northwest College, WY whom they beat in the second game of this young season, 66-57. On Saturday evening, YC plays the host team, Snow College. Last season, the Badgers got the best of the lady hoopsters, 65-53. Yavapai will return to conference play on Wednesday, December 3rd at Glendale Community College and gets back to the friendly confines of the Storm Center on Saturday, December 6th against Scottsdale Community College. Tip-off will be at 5:30 PM.
