Baseball Takes 1 of 2 from Lamar with a Walk Off RBI

The Roughrider baseball team split a doubleheader Friday afternoon against Lamar Community College. YC won the opener in dramatic fashion with a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning, 1-0 and Lamar took the nightcap, 4-2. The Roughrider baseball team battled the weather and the Runnin’ Lopes from Lamar Community College Thursday afternoon at Roughrider Park. YC came away with a doubleheader sweep, 10-0 and 6-2 to improve their overall record to 13-12. Softball Earns ACCAC Accolades

For their efforts last week, Jaya Allen and Makayla Guerra were named ACCAC Division I Pitcher of the Week and Player of the Week respectively. This marks the third time this season that Allen has earned the award. Allen recorded wins over Scottsdale and Eastern, both shutouts. She struck out 16 batters and allowed just 1 hit in each game.
