Roughriders Narrowly Miss Advancing to Region I Championship

The 2018 Roughrider soccer season ended abruptly Thursday night in Tucson. YC fell to #3 ranked Pima Community College, 1-0, in the semi-finals of the NJCAA Region I Playoffs. YC concludes the season with a 16-7 overall record and a 14-6 ACCAC mark. Pima improves to 19-2 on the year and a league best 18-2 conference record. Pima advances to the NJCAA Region I Championship match against Chandler-Gilbert Community College, winners over #15 ranked Phoenix College, 1-0.

Luke Frank played all 90 minutes in goal tallying 4 saves.

That was the final game for the Roughrider sophomores; Jose Perez Flores, Andrew Rivera, Jacob Downey, Tyler Trump, Angel Lujan and Gabriel Claudio.

Jose Perez Flores became the YC Career Assist leader with 37 helpers. Perez Flores, Claudio, Rivera and Kevyn Lo were all named to the ACCAC/Region I First Team.
