Jaydee Boursaw is the NJCAA DI National Player of the Year

On Thursday, Yavapai College softball player Jaydee Boursaw was named the NJCAA Division I National Player of the Year. It is the first time that a Yavapai College softball player has been named National Player of the Year.

The sophomore from Vallejo, California hit .449 for the season with 16 doubles, 28 home runs (league leader, top 3 in NJCAA), 86 runs batted (league leader, top 6 in NJCAA), 66 runs scored and 38 base on balls.

For her efforts, Boursaw was named to the ACCAC First Team, NJCAA Region I First Team, NJCAA First Team All-American, NJCAA DI Diamond Sports/NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) Catcher of the Year, NFCA All-West Region First Team, NFCA National First Team and Fastpitch News Second Team.

Jaydee is the Yavapai College all-time home run leader with 60 bombs and the all-time runs batted in leader with 187. Additionally, she is in the top ten in runs scored (139), batting average (.464), hits (164) and doubles (34).

Boursaw will be continuing her academic and athletic career at Lyndsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky. The Blue Raiders finished the 2018 season ranked #15 in the NAIA poll.
