Baseball Downs Scottsdale 12-6

YC is now 19-14 overall and 8-6 in ACCAC play. Scottsdale falls to 14-20 on the year and 8-12 in conference action.

The Roughriders could only manage 2 hits against the Artichokes yesterday but the Roughrider bats exploded today for 13 hits six for extra bases.

Scottsdale led 3-0 after an inning and a half but the Riders tied the game in the bottom of the second and took the lead in their half of the third. Scottsdale tied the game in the top of the fourth inning but the Green and Gold took the lead for good in the fifth inning with a pair of runs.

Carlos Viera was a single away from hitting for the cycle going 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. Jesus Pulido was 3 for 5 with a run scored and a run batted in. Over Torres, Cody Holtz and Logan Williams each had two hits.

Darius Vines picked up the victory throwing 6 innings striking out 8 batters. Jesus Valdaz threw three innings to pick up the save.

YC continues this current home stand with a conference doubleheader against Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Tuesday, March 27th. The first pitch will be thrown at 12:00 PM at Roughrider Park.
