Roughriders Dominate in National Tournament Opening Round

Yavapai College broke a 24-year-old national record for most goals in a season, 136, with a 9-0 victory over Waubonsee Community College of Sugar Grove, IL in the first of two group play matches in the 2017 NJCAA Division One National Championship Tournament Monday night in Prescott Valley. The previous national record was held by the 1993 Roughriders with 134 goals. YC is now 22-2-3 on the season. The match was the 107th post-season victory in the storied program’s history. It was also the 700th all-time official match for Roughrider soccer.

Yavapai continues group play on Wednesday, November 15th against long-time nemesis Monroe County Community College. The match will kick-off at 2:30 PM at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley.
