Roughriders Are West District Soccer Champions Again
The Roughrider soccer team captures their 21st NJCAA West District Championship with a 2-0 victory over Pima Community College Saturday afternoon at Ken Lindley Field. The win is the 62nd against the Aztecs, the most victories against any one school in the 29-year history of the program. Yavapai is now 21-2-3 on the year and Pima falls to 17-4-3.

Justin Motzkus (87 minutes) and Spencer Coffin (3 minutes) combined for the shutout, the 12th clean sheet of the season.
The Roughrider soccer program now has 77 titles – conference, region, district and national.
Yavapai has scored 127 goals on the season, only 7 short of tying the national record set by the 1993 YC soccer team.
The next match for the Green and Gold will be on Monday, November 13th or Tuesday, November 14th in the NJCAA National Tournament against an opponent yet to be determined. The seeding for the tournament will be released on Tuesday morning. The tournament will be held at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley.
