Roughriders Dominate the Matadors 6-1

The Roughrider soccer team scored 4 first half goals en route to a 6-1 victory over Arizona Western College Tuesday night at Ken Lindley Field. YC improves their overall record to 16-2-3 overall and 14-2-3 in ACCAC action. Arizona Western falls to 12-4-3 overall and in conference play.

With the victory, Yavapai earns a bye in the first round of the NJCAA Region I Playoffs beginning next Monday. Yavapai will play next Wednesday (Oct. 25 at Ken Lindley Field, 6:00 p.m.) in the semi-finals of the Region I Playoffs against an opponent yet to be determined. Prior to that, the Roughriders will play their final regular season match on Thursday, October 19th at Scottsdale Community College in a matinee affair beginning at 3:00 PM.
