Volleyball Falls to Arizona Western

On Friday the Yavapai Volleyball team made the journey from Prescott to Yuma, unfortunately they did not return with a win. The Roughriders fell by scores of 15-25, 23-25, 20-25.

The usual offense for the Roughriders did not appear in Yuma as the team hit .068 and could only muster 25 kills on 147 attempts. Sophomore Kaytlin Yost was a bright spot offensively hitting .200 with 9 kills on 35 attempts. Defensively Yavapai was not as trong as they have been recently only accumulating 44 digs and 5 total blocks. Over half (24) of the digs came from 2 freshmen, Victoria McCarty (13) and Nynke de Vries (11).

Yavapai is still in 1st place in the ACCAC with a 6-2 record (12-9 overall). They will look to improve those records as they travel to Tucson on Wednesday to take on the Aztecs of Pima Community College at 7:00 pm.
