On Friday evening the Roughrider volleyball team traveled to Chandler-Gilbert CC to take on the Coyotes and came away with a 3-0 sweep for the victory. The final scores were 25-22, 25-20, 25-19.

The win improves Yavapai’s record to 4-1 in the ACCAC and 9-8 overall. The win also marks the 200th victory for head coach Zach Shaver. (117 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and 83 at Yavapai College).

Sophomore right side hitter Kaytlin Yost was effective offensively hitting .220 with 12 kills. Freshman outside hitter Nynke de Vries had a team high 15 kills. Defensively the only Roughrider with double digit kills was freshman libero Victoria McCarty who finished with 19. Freshman setter Kanani Hiapo set the offense and finished 40 assists.

Yavapai will return to ACCAC competition on Wednesday at home in Walraven Gym at 7:00 pm against the Scottsdale Artichokes.
