Roughriders Go 1-1 in First Day of the Dalton Overstreet Invitational

After beating Eastern Arizona College on Thursday night the Roughriders continued their winning ways beating Colorado Northwestern CC 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-16). Four players finished with 6 kills each; sophomore outside hitter Jailynn Butler (pictured), sophomore right side hitter Kaytlin Yost, freshman right side hitter Nynke de Vries, and sophomore middle blocker Bailey Anderson. Freshman libero Victoria McCarty led the team with 6 service aces and 8 digs.

Unfortunately in in nightcap the Roughriders could not knock off the nationally ranked (#13) Badgers of Snow College. The set scores were 19-25, 22-25, 25-14, 16-25. Freshman setter Kanani Hiapo drove the offense with 31 assists and added 10 digs. Offensively a few Yavapai players turned in some solid kill numbers but too many attacking errors (25) led to a hitting percentage of only .063 for the match.
