Softball Continues Dominance in ACCAC Action

The Roughrider softball team swept a doubleheader from Pima Community College Tuesday afternoon at Bill Vallely field, 9-1 and 4-2. YC improves their league leading conference record to 29-3 and their overall mark to 33-4. Pima falls to 27-14 on the year and 21-11 in ACCAC action.

In the opener, YC managed 10 hits including two home runs. Four Riders had multiple hits led by Jaydee Boursaw who was 2 for 2 hitting her league leading 20th home run of the year. Raelynn Rios was 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 RBI’s. Mikayla Newham was 2 for 3 and Andrea Sotelo was 2 for 3.

Amy Robinson earned her 14th victory of the year throwing the complete game.

In the nightcap, Andrea Sotelo accounted for 3 of the Riders 4 runs hitting her 12th and 13th home runs of the season. Kiana Spencer was crafty in the circle working out of jams in the first and third innings.

Yavapai continues conference play in a rare Friday afternoon doubleheader. YC entertains Glendale Community College with the first pitch being thrown at 12:00 PM. YC swept the Gauchos in their first meeting, 10-8 and 15-2.
