The Roughrider team split a conference doubleheader with Chandler-Gilbert Community College Tuesday afternoon in Chandler. YC dropped the first game 3-2 in extra innings and blanked the Coyotes in the nightcap, 3-0. Yavapai is now 22-16 overall and 8-10 in league play.

The first game was a pitching duel as both teams were held scoreless through the first four innings before the Riders sored a lone run in the top of the fifth inning however, Chandler-Gilbert responded with one of their own in the bottom half of the inning. In the eighth inning, RJ Cordeiro scored on a passed ball. The Coyotes tied the game up in their half of the inning. YC failed to score in the ninth but CGCC scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

Reza Aleaziz was dominant on the mound as he threw 7 innings giving up two hits and 1 run while striking out 6.

Cordeiro and Jonathan Villa each 2 hits to lead the offense.
