Soccer Earns Their 6th Win with a Shutout Over Gateway

Five different players scored a goal Tuesday afternoon in a 5-0 victory in Phoenix over Gateway Community College at Rose Mofford Park, home of the Roughrider’s 2008 National Championship. YC advances their overall record to 6-1-1 and 5-1-1 in ACCAC play.

Scoring Summary

18th minute – Carlo Quesada assisted by Ziyad Fares
43rd minute – Matthew Jordan assisted by Angel Lopez
61st minute – Jorge Regalado assisted by Lorenzo Macias
72nd minute – Bailey Watkins assisted by Carlo Quesada
73rd minute – Ricardo Nunez-Arellano assisted by Sergio Gonzalez

It was a combined effort in goal for the Riders 3rd shutout on the season. Justin Motzkus played 70 minutes and Spencer Coffin logged 20 minutes. The shutout is the 344th all-time blanking.

Yavapai continues conference action on Saturday at Mesa Community college in a matinee affair beginning at 4:30PM. YC returns home on Tuesday, September 20th at Ken Lindley Field against Arizona Western College. Kick-off will be at 6:00PM.
