Softball Advances to the Regional Championship

Dustie Durham was strong at the plate and on the rubber in carrying Yavapai College Roughriders Softball team to a 6-5 victory over Central Arizona College on Saturday in Thatcher AZ.

Durham racked up three RBIs on two hits for YC. She singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Durham put together a nice outing. Durham held Central Arizona hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with five lead changes.

Yavapai finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. The Lady Riders went up for good on a three-run home run by Durham, bringing home Lindsey Smith and Jocilyn Ellis.

Central Arizona College jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.

The Green and Gold answered Central Arizona College’s top inning with three runs of its own in the first. Yavapai College Roughriders Softball scored on a walk by Sydney Forray and a two-run single by Mayhina Chong.
