Christian Maggi was 2 for 4 from the plate. Gavin Johns went 1 for 3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning. Jonathan Villa was 1 for 1 with a run scored and one run knocked in.

In the second game, YC and the Aztecs passed the lead back and forth five times.
Yavapai took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. The Green and Gold scored on a two-run double by Brock Ephan, scoring Nate Easley and Gavin Johns.

The Roughriders relied on Chase Beal to eat up innings en route to the win. Beal allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
The top of the first saw YC take an early lead, 2-0 getting things going when Easley singled. A double by Christian Maggi then moved Easley from first to third. YC scored when Easley and Maggi scored on an error.
Yavapai added two more runs in the top of the seventh. The inning looked promising, as Jonathan Villa singled to kick things off. That was followed up by Jaxxon Fagg’s single, scoring Nikko Delgado.
The Roughriders return home on Thursday, March 17th facing non-conference opponents, Langley Blaze and Meiji University. Games will kick-off at 12:00 PM.
