Roughriders Off To a Strong 5-1 Start
Yavapai College Roughrider Softball team lost 7-5 in seven innings at Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, despite outhitting Colorado Northwestern CC 13 to six.
Jalyn McClain was the game’s losing pitcher. She lasted just four innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
The lead stayed with Colorado Northwestern after the first, when it scored two runs on an error.
One run in the bottom of the third helped Yavapai College Roughriders Softball close its deficit to 3-1. An RBI single by Dustie Durham gave YC life.
Colorado Northwestern piled on four more runs in the top of the fifth.
Three runs in the bottom of the sixth helped the Green and Gold close its deficit to 7-4. A wild pitch and a two-run single by Lynea Klemmedson fueled Yavapai’s comeback. But, Nicole Matta to flied out to end the inning.
